We emigrated to South Africa from Denmark 30 years back and initially ran a small hotel in Ramsgate. We had literally arrived in South Africa with just our suit cases, but I had refused to sell my knitting machine when we emigrated and it was waiting for me in Denmark. Later, when someone else moved to South Africa, I had it sent to me with their shipment.

I soon found it offered a good opportunity to be used to begin a knitwear business. So after a few years, the hotel was sold and we came to Cape Town to begin making knitwear full time. I have not looked back since then, some 25 years later.

I work from home but do not need a storeroom as my knitting machines have trouble keeping up with sales, rather than the other way around. I believe the popularity of our garments is because I strive for top quality and remain dedicated to providing utility and style. I also always have a good range to choose from.

The cotton fibres I use are a special benefit in our climate and stretch the usefulness of our jerseys across the seasons. All out jerseys are fully machine washable.

I also have a range of necklaces fashioned with semi-precious stones.
