Japanese art forms are exacting and require real commitment if one is to come close to the standards of the Japanese. The Japanese artist of whatever genre has an inherent respect for Nature and this is reflected in his or her work.
And this reflection of Nature is always there, accurately portrayed, yet nothing is ever overstated. This subtle approach to understatement and simplicity, wabi to sabi as this philosophy is expressed in Japanese, requires greater and not lesser skill and understanding of both the art form and its subject matter. In our humble way, we strive very respectfully to remain true without compromise to the essence and traditions of the Oriental art forms we pursue.
Hare-Yama Ryu is our home for oriental arts. Long-time interests in a number of oriental, and especially Japanese art forms eventually merged into one, as we began to discover the common philosophies that govern artistic thinking in Japan. From this, Hare-Yama Ryu was born, with our specific philosophies of Goju and Gaku Jutsu Do.
At the Country Craft Market we present at our stall, bonsai, sumi-e (ink pictures), suiseki (viewing stones) and of course our range of related ceramic ware.
We offer with pride our complete bonsai, and support this with a full range of bonsai supplies and services including:
Bonsai containers - made by Hare-Yama Ryu, we offer a wide range of styles and sizes
Bonsai necessities - soil, bonsai food, tools ...
Bonsai services - workshops, holiday care, hospital care, trimming, styling, advice ...
We also offer a range of auxiliary items such as stone lanterns large and small, bonsai stands, sumi-e and suiseki, that add interest to any Japanese display or garden design.
Most important. Remember to bring your bonsai to the Country Craft Market for advice, trimming or any other help you require. We look forward to assisting you and providing guidance.
